Throughout my career in advertising and as a fellow consumer, the experience of the object and consumer culture has always fascinated me.
I use objects to explore themes of identity, ideology, desire, fetishism, and fantasy. Using artifacts of popular American culture, I reinterpret their “roles” as I see them. Using existing objects, I reorganize their original place in the world. This perhaps allows us to look at the powerful language inherent in “things” and our relationships with them.
